Firefox does not start

Postby protesto on Mon Jul 23, 2007 11:14 am

Hello,

after installing Bufferzone pro from a magazine, uninstalling and reinstalling it again, Firefox does not start anymore. It is somehow blocked.
If I uninstall Bufferzone or take Firefox out of Bufferzone, Firefox works fine again. Looks like Bufferzone soemhow changes Firefox when it is active.
Can you please help me there.

Thanks and best regards

What do you mean by saying FF blocked?
Are you able to open it?
Does FF launch itself?
What hapen when you try to empty BZ?
is there a chance that your BZ firewall was configured to Block firefox.exe traffic?

Hello,

with Firefox does not start I mean, that it does not automatically start up when I start the system (what it normally does) and if I then start Firefox, I can see it for several seconds in the process list, but it disappears after some seconds automatically without any error messages out of the process list.

Firefox does not launch at all if BZ is active and Firefox is under its control.

If I empty BZ, I understand this means taking Firefox out of Bufferzone, Firefox works normal.

The BZ firewall I did not touch at all.

thanks for the quick response.

regards

Empty BZ does not mean to take FF out of BZ,
at the bottom of the summary window, there is a link "empty BufferZone " it will clean all virtual files and registry,(at your choice)
please note that it will delete all BZ files (incase you saved somthing there).
By the way.. which version of FF do you use?

:) Hello,

I am having the same problem except that I get a message that firefox is already running and also the firefox icon is inserted into BZ. When I click OK on the message the icon goes away and firefox will not load. I tried emptying the buffer zone and it did not help.. The only way I can run Firefox at this time is to take it out of BZ.
IE6 runs fine in BZ-no problem

Thanks
Ron

which version of BZ do you use?
Can you please run sysdump.exe and send the zip file it generates to support@trustware.com
