Shutdown, Reboot, Logoff and Corrupt files

Postby Alfredo on Thu Apr 06, 2006 3:42 pm

Hi, I've always used AntiMalware but just noticed it got updated and decided to take a look at this new version.

I'm running Windows XP Media Center Edition SP2 with ZoneAlarm Pro and BufferZone 1.90-7 and was able to shutdown, reboot and logoff with three little programs. They can be found here: http://www.securitysoftware.cc/apps.html
Lockfile can be used to make files corrupt, making sure they can't be opened by anyone.

Every program was run within the BufferZone, but none of them got stopped by the program.

Regards, Alfredo

Hi Alfredo

We confirmed that there is an issue with shutting down and rebooting the system.
Although we consider it as a low security threat we will address it in the upcoming builds in a way that would forbid a program running in the BufferZone to reboot or shutdown the system.

Thanks for letting us know about this issue.

What about the program that enables you to corrupt other programs?
