BufferZone ProTM Complements Existing Anti-Virus Solutions.
Mountain View,California, July 16, 2009 - TrustwareTM, a leader in security technologies that virtualize and protect a PC, announced today that BufferZone Pro, protects consumers against newly discovered security vulnerability associated with the Critical JavaScript flaw in Firefox 3.5. As reported by Mozilla on Tuesday, July 14, 2009, a bug was discovered in Firefox 3.5's Just-in-time (JIT) component of the JavaScript tool. It is a critical vulnerability that can be used to execute malicious code.
The unpatched vulnerability in Firefox's latest version can be exploited by an attacker who tricks a victim into viewing a malicious Web page containing the exploit code... This exploit can cause a memory corruption buffer overflow, which could lead to a compromise on an affected system. The vulnerability can be mitigated by disabling the JIT in the JavaScript engine
Dozens of threats and vulnerabilities arises each day, requiring constant - and reactive - software definition updates that come after malware and viruses hit PCs. By the time users notice slower performance and odd-looking programs, it is too late. BufferZone Pro creates a protection zone that lets the user download anything while keeping the computer running more smoothly and securing sensitive files.
BufferZone Pro creates a separate - or virtual - environment that isolates security threats and prevents them from ever touching the user's hard drive. Trustware's threat virtualization software lets users safely download, install and operate any application without fear of malicious or unidentified attacks by Trojan horses, worms, keyloggers, spyware, Adware, phishing attempts or other computer-clogging malware.
